Medicine Ball Abdominal Exercises Toss: Difficulty, 3; lower back, 3. No, this one doesn’t involve catching the ball with your abs! Lie on your back with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor. Raise your torso to a 45-degree angle. Have someone toss a medicine ball to you. Catch it slightly above your head with your elbows bent; keeping your elbows bent, slowly lower your torso back to the floor, but only to just above your shoulder blades. Slowly raise your torso, and toss the medicine ball back to your partner. Continue tossing the ball back and forth as your raise and lower.
